TO INSTALL THE SOFTWARE: The .exe files in this directory are self extracting zip files which correspond to the ChameleonNFS installation diskettes. 1. Create 4 temporary directories on your PC. We suggest you name them chameln1, chameln2, chameln3, and chameln4 -- corresponding to the names of the different .exe files. 2. Download the .exe files, each into a separate directory on your hard drive. 3. Execute each .exe file. This will unzip them and place the files for each installation disk in its own directory. 4. Execute the setup.exe file in the directory corresponding to the chameln1.exe file. 5. Setup will now run and will ask you for each of the four installation disks in order. Fill in the path name on your hard drive where you originally put the corresponding .exe file. (Note: The disk prompt for "NewtProfs" is the same as Disk 3) 6. Once the software is installed you will be prompted for all the other relevant information (i.e. adapter type, IP address, subnet mask, etc.). 7. You can use Custom to configure some optional information (i.e. default gateway, DNS server, etc.). After verifying that your installation is complete, you may delete the temporary directories you created in step 1 above. !!!!!!!! Important !!!!!!!!!!!!!! During the installation you will be prompted for a serial number. To get a serial number and key code, use a WWW client such as NCSA Mosaic or NetManage WebSurfer and look at the following page: http://www.netmanage.com/netmanage/demo.html Here you will find a form to fill out to get the serial number and key code. You must also have a valid email address so that the demo license information you need may be emailed back to you. When you get the serial number you will be told when it expires. Upon expiration you may purchase a permanent copy (we will not object to purchases prior to the expiration day). Only one demonstration license is allowed per person. The winsock.dll provided in this release is compatible with the Windows Sockets version 1.1 specification. If you find any problems, please send your e-mail to winsock@netmanage.com.
