To use one of the programs, follow this procedure:
1. Using Finder, open the folder of the tool, program, or resource you
want to install.
2. Create a folder on your hard disk for the new program.
3. Click and drag the program folder from the disc to your hard disk,
placing it in your new folder.
4. In most cases, the program is provided in three formats:
- A binhex version, which contains a self-extracting archive.
(Use this one if you have to store the file on a non-Mac system
before you install it on your Mac.)
- A self-extracting archive version (which has *not* been binhexed)
- A separate folder (called "exploded") that contains the extracted
file(s) needed to install or run the program.
Choose the format that best suits your configuration and
proceed accordingly:
- To use the binhex version, you must first un-binhex it,
then self-extract its contents.
- To use a self-extracting version, simply double-click on it and
it will expand.
- To install or run the pre-extracted version, open the "exploded"
folder and run the appropriate application listed there.
5. Many of the programs on this disc are shareware or unregistered
evaluation versions. THIS IS NOT FREE SOFTWARE. Please
register with the authors and pay for any programs you decide
to keep or use. Not only is it good for your karma, it helps keep
software developers inspired, motivated, and reasonably well-fed.
