Adjusting the Clock on Your VCR Unit

Adjusting the clock on your VCR is usually only necessary when the unit is first connected to the AC power outlet, or when power is interrupted, such as by a power failure. When you connect your VCR to the AC power outlet for the first time, or after a power interruption, the clock will indicate "SUN 12:00 AM" and flash. It is relatively easy to set the clock on your VCR to the correct time, by following the directions below.

Before you begin

Make sure your VCR is connected to a power source. You will not need any tools to perform this operation.

What to do

  1. Push the POWER button (a) ON and the TIMER button (b) OFF. "SUN 12:00 AM" flashes.

  2. Push the SELECT button (a) once. "SUN" flashes. Press SET button (b) to set the day.>

  3. Push the SELECT button (a) once. "12 AM" flashes. Then push the SET button (b) to set the hour.

  4. Push the SELECT button (a) once. "00" flashes. Press SET button (b) to set the day.

  5. Push SELECT button and be sure the present time is displayed.

  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 if you enter the time incorrectly.

Results

Your VCR clock now shows the correct time. If your clock does not show the correct time, you probably need to look at our troubleshooting section.
